We take the matter of handling sensitive information seriously. As an applicant to the Glengarry Trust, there will be data held on file about either you as an individual, the organisation on behalf of which you are applying or on occasion, both. The information we collect is for the purposes of communicating with you about your grant application and for making decisions about funding requests. We also use the data to improve our service to you and to collect statistical information about the types of applications we receive.
We never share this information with anyone outside of the Glengarry Trust with the exception of the Apprenticeship application information, which is run and administered jointly with the Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston Community Company. We keep the personal information we collect for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which we collected it. The length of time depends on the purposes for which we use it, or otherwise to meet our legal obligations. Whilst we cannot ensure or guarantee that unauthorised access to or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or loss of information will never occur, we work hard to prevent it.
We review our practices for collecting, processing and storing data, and will continue to enhance our processes as new technology is introduced. We restrict access to personal information wherever possible to people who need to know that information to process it and who are subject to contractual confidentiality requirements.
If you have any questions about this Policy then please email glengarrytrust@gmail.com. This email account is not monitored every day, however someone will get back to you within 4 weeks but usually much sooner. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled or processed your personal information – or you want further information about your rights – you have the right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office, the supervisory body that regulates handling of personal information in the UK.
